David Keys is Archaeology Correspondent for the London daily paper, The Independent, frequent television commentator and consultant. 

With over four decades of journalistic experience, David’s experience can be categorised into 5 main areas:

  • 40 years of front line experience in almost all areas of journalism – from local, national and trade papers to TV and radio – and from magazine feature work to overseas news reportage.

  • Detailed experience over the years in a range of contrasting subject specialisms – archaeology/history/heritage; cultural travel; international trade, transport and politics.

  • 38 TV documentaries initiated and researched over the past 14 years (for BBC, C4, Discovery, Nat Geo and US Public Service Broadcasting).

  • International reach: literarily hundreds of articles have also appeared translated into foreign languages in more than 20 different countries.
